About Ibanez
Ibanez is a Japanese manufacturer of guitars and basses. Its name derives from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935 the importer began manufacturing Spanish guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador" and later simply "Ibanez".
