About IBANEZ
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The brand name originates from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The company faced the recession of 1929 and closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935 the importer started manufacturing Spanish-style guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador," which later evolved into just "Ibanez."
