The EPi is a high-end routing pedal that lets you take your effects signal and record it directly into your DAW or analog tape recorder; professionally designed with no signal or fidelity loss. The EPi also features RCA -10dBu inputs and outputs for connection to non-professional signal operating levels. By adjusting the impedance and voltage levels coming from your effects pedals, and properly interfacing with professional recording studio levels, the Analog Alien EPi allows you to use your effects pedals in ways you never imagined.
How to use the EPi:
Insertion Points A and B
The EPi has two separate insertion points that operate independently: A and B. These insertion points let you set up two separate signal chains while switching between them. You can have both active simultaneously. It’s also possible to blend both signal paths independently and then combine them at the balanced XLR outputs, 1/4" buffered output, or RCA -10dBu outputs.
Single Input Circuit
You can also connect your pedalboard output directly to the EPi’s input, taking advantage of its single input circuit. Your distortion and overdrive pedals will gain an entirely new sonic dimension when recorded through the EPi.
Mixing Console/DAW
The EPi input can also accept a direct signal from your DAW or mixing console output. You can send a pre-recorded track to any effects pedal and then re-record the signal back into your DAW. If you’ve ever wondered how your vocal or drum tracks would sound through your favorite guitar pedal, now you’ll find out.
Multiple Uses
The EPi can also be used as an A-B box (with A and B active simultaneously), a direct box (DI), or a Re-Amp box. Additionally, it can split your guitar signal and send it to 4 separate amps with 4 separate effects—all at once!
A/B Insertion Connectors
In live stage situations, you can connect two separate pedalboards to the A/B insertion connectors and have each pedalboard active independently. You can also have both active simultaneously while sending their effected signals to the main mixing console and your amplifier at the same time.
About Analog Alien Guitars Effects
Analog Alien is an analog pedal brand based in New York, created by enthusiasts nostalgic for the golden age of rock. Together with the owners of a small recording studio on the East Coast called Cloud 9, they developed their first pedal, the "Fuzz Bubble 45," which emulates the classic guitar tones of the 60s and 70s.
Their catalog is truly limited yet exclusive, featuring pedals that cover much of the most used and useful guitar effects such as compression, fuzz, distortion, delay, and reverb.
Among the well-known artists who collaborate with the brand are names like Steve Wonder, Billy Gibbons, Colin Lindel, Joe Walsh, and Susan Tedeschi.
