D'Addario is a manufacturer of strings for musical instruments, primarily known for producing electric guitar strings. Originating from a family of craftsmen in the small Italian town of Salle, located in Pescara Province, they emigrated to New York after an earthquake, where they are now headquartered. A family-owned business, they are currently one of the world's leading string manufacturers. In addition to strings, they produce and distribute accessories (straps, cables, etc.) for musicians under the Planet Waves brand.
