Designed for Guy Pratt, the Interstellar is a NEW take on a classic. Inspired by Guy's use of his ABM-900. We took the ABM back to the drawing board, focusing on the EQ and Valve Drive as key features for Guy. The Interstellar brings the power, reliability, and tonal sophistication of the ABM to new levels of excellence.
- Power: 600 Watts
- 9-band EQ
- Tube: 1 x 12AX7
Always eye-catching, Guy has played bass on countless recordings and has appeared on stage with some of the most prestigious rock bands in the world. Having used our amplifiers in various ways throughout his professional career and with some downtime in recent years, we started discussing a sort of collaboration, one intended solely for his personal use. The amplifier needed to fit neatly on top of his pair of CL-310 cabinets, have an input to power his Taurus pedal, and look as if it had been created in the 1960s.
Having built custom products for Guy in the past, we wanted something original that could be sold worldwide as The Interstellar—a powerful 600-watt bass amplifier, beautifully finished in a custom enclosure and handcrafted in our UK facility. It features a 9-band EQ section with the option to dial in the perfect valve tone. Building on the features of the ABM-EVO IV, the pedalable options (pedal sold separately) for compression and subharmonics at fixed levels according to Guy's exact specifications make the Interstellar a highly versatile head packed with functions.

About Ashdown Engineering
The history of Ashdown dates back to 1997, but even in those early days, the company's founder, Mark Gooday, was already considered a veteran of bass amplifier design. After fierce competition with another leading UK bass amp manufacturer, Gooday managed to position his company among the largest in the industry thanks to his pioneering approach, and focused on even higher aspirations, developing what this manufacturer is today.
