The preamp features high and low impedance jack inputs suitable for use with active or passive instruments, allowing you to optimize your input signal, which can then be fine-tuned using the Ashdown VU meter. Once the signal is at its optimal level, you can utilize the various functions designed to enhance your sound, such as the Shape control, the 5-band EQ, and the built-in compressor. The Drive control provides a pleasing valve overdrive emulation, while the Sub control adds even more depth to your tone (both controls can be switched on and off via a separately sold FS 2 pedal).
The rear panel of the Rootmaster C210-500-T EVO II also includes a balanced DI output, a line input, an effects loop, a headphone output, and a Neutrik Speakon/Jack socket for connecting an external 8-ohm speaker.
A mute switch allows you to tune or switch instruments silently, with the iconic Ashdown Engineering VU meter changing from a warm orange to a refreshing blue.
