The Scarlett 18i20 features eight of Focusrite's third-generation Scarlett microphone preamps: with optional Air mode to emulate the Air effect of the original ISA microphone preamp, giving your recordings a brighter and more open sound. Each microphone preamp also includes a pad to accommodate higher-level signals without clipping. The two high-level instrument inputs on the front panel allow for recording without unwanted clipping or distortion.

The speaker switching technology enables you to toggle between main and alternate monitors for a fresh perspective on your mix, and the built-in feedback microphone allows you to communicate with the recording artist at the press of a button.

A pair of virtual loopback inputs lets you capture stereo feeds from any combination of hardware input channels and software playback, making it ideal for podcasting, live streaming, and sampling.

The Scarlett 18i20 connects directly to your Mac® or PC via a USB cable. It comes with all the software tools you need to get started: two complete digital audio workstations, Ableton® Live Lite™ and Pro Tools® First Focusrite Creative Pack; the Softube Time and Tone Bundle; the Focusrite Red Plug-in Suite; and a selection of one of four addictive XLN Audio keys.
