About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name comes from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by the company Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. With the Japanese market left undersupplied, the importer decided in 1935 to start making Spanish guitars on its own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." The name was later changed to "Ibanez."
