Our Opinion

This set is an especially good option for bassists who use drop tunings and need a firm response. The 55-115 gauge offers greater control, more precise attack, and clearer definition in heavy riffs, even when playing with a pick or under intense dynamics.

Switching from a lighter gauge set may require adjusting the nut, truss rod, string height, and intonation. When properly set up, the DDT strings provide a very solid combination of stability, attack, and clarity in lower tunings.
