About Ampeg Amplification

The Ampeg brand was founded with the goal of meeting the amplification needs of bassists at the time, aiming to match the emerging electric guitar sound.

As Rock 'n' Roll exploded in popularity, their small tube combo amps evolved into larger units suitable for big stages and larger audiences. Interestingly, they were pioneers in incorporating reverb into guitar amplifiers, predating Fender's famous Vibroverb.
