Analog Echo / Delay effect pedal, Slap-Back Echo.
- Analog reissue of the 70s version
- True Bypass
- Three delay time settings
- Made in the USA
The Electro-Harmonix Slap-Back Echo pedal, a late 1970s rarity, has been reissued with modern updates and a compact size. The 1950s era gave rise to an iconic sound using a single short delay to add depth and rhythmic effect on countless recordings.
The newly reissued fully analog design of the EHX Slap-Back Echo delivers this beloved classic sound and more in a compact format. With three delay time settings and up to +20 dB of boost, the Slap-Back Echo can produce subtle doubling effects to intense slapback echoes, all with the distinctive flavor of bucket brigade device (BBD) circuits.
The Slap-Back Echo features gain and blend knobs, as well as a time switch. The gain knob controls the input signal before the echo circuit and also adjusts the overall output volume with up to +20 dB of boost. The blend knob mixes the dry signal and echo signal from 100% dry to 100% echo. The time switch selects between three different delay times: 45 ms, 65 ms, and 100 ms.

About Electro-Harmonix.
Electro-Harmonix is one of those legendary companies that has managed to stay strong in the market since 1968, when guru Mike Matthews founded the brand in New York City.
Mike balanced his work between the IBM computer company and his home garage, where he built pedals for many years. His first creation was the LPB-1, a very simple booster-line driver that quickly became famous.
In the early 1980s, Electro-Harmonix was forced to close due to the flood of Asian companies entering the musical instrument market, such as Roland/Boss, Ibanez, and Tokai. Fortunately, the company made a comeback a few years ago by reissuing its classic designs under a new phase called New Sensor, renamed by Mike.
From the beginning, the factory specialized in effects pedals, attracting major music figures such as Carlos Santana, Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead), Jimi Hendrix, Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), Jack White (The White Stripes), John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), The Edge (U2), Cliff Burton (Metallica), David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), and Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys).
