The Catalinbread Belle Epoch + is a tape-style delay pedal designed to capture the classic character of the legendary Echoplex EP-3, but with the reliability and control of a modern pedal. It offers a warm, organic, and textured sound, with repeats ranging from a smooth slapback to long, saturated echoes, always with that distinctive vintage touch. It features modern functions such as tap tempo, three “tape age” modes to simulate different tape wear states, and an enhanced preamp that provides greater clarity, headroom, and a very musical response.

Intended for both live and studio use, the Belle Epoch + easily integrates into any pedalboard thanks to its buffered bypass and rugged design. Its tape saturation control, “wow & flutter” modulation, and delay times of up to nearly a second allow for a wide variety of atmospheres, from retro to ambient. Controls:

Sustain: Amount of signal sent to the delay line

Mix: Adjust from 100% dry (no effect) to 100% wet (full effect)

Tape FX: Amount of tape movement in repeats

Rec Level: Amount of preamp gain sent to the delay line, affecting the first repeat

Echo Delay: Delay time, up to 900 ms

Program Selector:

1- Original Belle Epoch Echoplex circuit

2- Introduces artificial aging of the virtual tape, resulting in semi-random tape modulation and a more precise filter adjustment for Rec Level

3- Compresses the signal, leading to a lower distortion threshold, a more accurate high-pass filter, increased modulation, and broader bandwidth degradation

LED Mode:

Red: Classic Mode

Green: Tap Tempo Mode

Blue: Tap the bypass mode to memorize the tempo entered before deactivation
