The ROSS Distortion is a high-gain clipping operational amplifier built around the classic 70s topology found in pedals like the MXR Distortion Plus, the DOD 250, and the ProCo RAT. While this pedal can be used in almost any situation, it excels at producing a natural tube-like distortion and pushing the amplifier into a natural breakup.
“Level” controls the volume (the right is higher, the left is lower). “Distort” adjusts the amount of high-gain clipping distortion (the right is more distorted, the left is less). The side switch allows the player to toggle between two circuit versions developed over its fifteen-year history: the Germanium mode (“Era 2”) and the Silicon mode (“Era 3”). The footswitch activates the pedal with a smooth bypass switch. The status LED indicates when the circuit is active.

About Ross Pedals
The story of ROSS Pedals is not just about a product, nor even a company. It’s the story of an individual—an innovator alongside legends like Leo Fender and Paul Bigsby. His given name was Charles, but his friends (and he had many) called him Bud. The nickname suited him. Whether chatting with one of his production line builders, encouraging his engineers to push the boundaries of amplification, or rubbing shoulders with music icons like Johnny Cash and Charley Pride, Bud was above all a friend. Stan, Bud’s eldest son, even claims that Bud knew the names of his over 200 employees and “knew the names of their children.”
