Description

The Ibanez AR320MBM Midnight Black Metallic reintroduces the classic double-cutaway design from the AR series in an elegant, solid, and highly versatile guitar. Its okoume body is paired with a three-piece AR neck made of maple with a smooth heel, a construction that enhances sustain and provides easy access to the upper frets.

Its two Ibanez Super 58 Alnico humbucker pickups deliver a warm, well-defined sound with vintage character. Each pickup has its own Tri-Sound switch, allowing selection between series, parallel, or single coil operation to greatly expand its tonal palette. The Gibraltar Performer bridge, Quik Change Classic tailpiece, and gold hardware complete a guitar with a refined aesthetic, ready to perform across a variety of styles.

AR Series

The Ibanez AR, also historically known as Artist, is one of Ibanez's classic series and one of the brand's original designs. Its double-cutaway shape, solid construction, and elegant aesthetics make it a distinctive alternative to more traditional designs.

This series is designed for guitarists seeking a comfortable, versatile instrument with good sustain, capable of handling rock, blues, fusion, and more classic sounds with ease. The AR series maintains the vintage vibe of the original Artist models but with modern features and a well-balanced response suitable for live performances or studio work. According to Ibanez, the AR remains one of their most recognized and sought-after guitars in their catalog.

Our Opinion

The AR320 is highly recommended for players who appreciate classic designs but want more flexible electronics. The Super 58 pickups provide a balanced, characterful sound, especially suitable for blues, jazz, classic rock, pop, and styles where dynamics are important.

The Tri-Sound switches are one of its main attractions, as they allow switching from full-bodied humbucker tones to brighter, more open sounds. A great option for musicians looking for a single guitar capable of covering different musical styles without sacrificing an elegant, traditional aesthetic.

About IBANEZ

Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. Its name honors Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars independently and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was renamed simply "Ibanez."
