Our Opinion

The S2 Standard 22 is one of the most straightforward and practical PRS models in the S2 lineup. Without a maple top, it has a more subdued character focused on mahogany: prominent midrange, warm sound, and a very responsive tone both when directly plugged into an amp and with pedals.

It’s a very appealing option for those wanting an American PRS without resorting to more luxurious finishes or complex configurations. The 22 frets, Pattern Regular neck, and 58/15 LT pickups make it comfortable, versatile, and with a classic vibe that fits well in rock, blues, pop, and styles where tone takes precedence over excessive features.
