The PRS S2 series is manufactured in the United States at PRS's factory in Stevensville, Maryland. It is a range designed for guitarists seeking the character, comfort, and reliability of PRS with a more straightforward approach than the Core series.

The name S2 stands for “Stevensville 2,” referring to the second production line created by PRS within its own factory. This series includes highly versatile models, from modern-cut guitars to more traditional options like the McCarty 594.

Our Opinion

The S2 Mira 594 is one of those PRS guitars that impress not through excess, but through everything being well thought out. The combination of mahogany, 594 scale length, and 58/15 LT pickups places it in a very musical territory: a full-bodied sound, good definition, and a very natural response for dynamic playing.

We find it especially interesting for guitarists looking for a more direct PRS American model than a traditional Custom or McCarty, but with plenty of character. The individual coil tap offers great versatility in studio or live settings, and the Antique White finish suits that simple, classic, and slightly rock-inspired look very well.
