The name S2 stands for “Stevensville 2,” referencing the second manufacturing line created by PRS within their own factory. This series includes highly versatile models, from modern-shaped guitars to more classic options like the McCarty 594.

Our Opinion

The S2 Mira 594 is one of those PRS guitars that impress not with excess, but with everything well thought out. The combination of mahogany, 594 scale length, and 58/15 LT pickups places it in a very musical territory: a full-bodied sound, good definition, and a very natural response for dynamic playing.

We find it particularly interesting for guitarists looking for a more direct American PRS than a traditional Custom or McCarty, but with plenty of character. The individual coil tap offers versatile options for studio or live use, and the Antique White finish complements its simple, classic, and slightly rock-oriented style.
