Series S2

The PRS S2 series is manufactured in the United States, at PRS's factory in Stevensville, Maryland. It is a range designed for guitarists seeking the character, comfort, and reliability of PRS with a more straightforward approach than the Core series.

The name S2 stands for “Stevensville 2,” referring to the second manufacturing line created by PRS within their own factory. This series includes highly versatile models, from modern-cut guitars to more traditional options like the McCarty 594.

Our Opinion

The S2 Standard 24 is a very appealing option within PRS for those looking for a serious, straightforward guitar without too many embellishments but with professional features. The mahogany body adds warmth and sustain, while the 58/15 LT pickups provide a clear, versatile response suitable for rock, blues, pop, fusion, or pedal-driven sounds.

Compared to a Custom with a maple top, this Standard has a more understated and compact feel, with a very “workhorse” guitar character. It’s an excellent choice for players who want a comfortable, stable, and stage-ready PRS American guitar.
