The Swamp Ash Special is one of those PRS models that makes sense for players looking to move away from the traditional mahogany and maple top sound. The swamp ash provides a quicker attack, more brightness, and an open response, without sacrificing the comfortable and refined feel expected from a PRS USA.

The most interesting aspect is the electronics: the combination of the 58/15 LT pickups with the Narrowfield in the middle and the coil-tap switches allows seamless switching between humbucker-style sounds, more defined single-coil tones, and positions with characterful single-coil sound, but with more body and noise control.
