The California Special models represent the evolution and refinement of Fender's modern acoustic instruments.
They combine the legendary feel of Fender electric guitars with all-solid construction and top-tier electronics. Bridging the past, present, and future, these instruments resonate in a uniquely distinct way.
Featuring X-bracing, a solid okume top, back, and sides, the Redondo Special is a dreadnought model that delivers a deep, rich bass tone with exceptional projection and volume. It’s perfect for both live performances and studio recordings.
Its neck has a comfortable ”Slim C” profile, a 25.5” (648 mm) scale length, and a backward-angled headstock with six aligned tuning machines, giving it a distinctive look inspired by Fender electric guitars. Vintage-style tuning machines allow for smooth and precise tuning, while its binding and maple rosette add a touch of luxury. The nut and saddle contribute to the guitar’s excellent harmonic character.
The Fishman Flex Body preamp system is designed for live performance. It combines a piezo pickup under the bridge with an internal transducer to faithfully reproduce the guitar’s natural tone with high reliability when connected to an amplifier, sound system, or recording device.
