Typically sourced from Canada and Alaska, Sitka spruce offers a strong midrange and bass response. The sound is tight and well-defined, making it especially well-suited for chord strumming and fingerstyle rhythmic techniques.

Mahogany has a slower transient response than other woods, contributing to a warmer, more resonant tone with rich midrange.

The Japan-made Series 5 instruments feature bone nuts and saddles. Bone is harder than urea and provides a more efficient energy transfer from the strings to the neck and body.
This results in a clearer, louder sound.

When defining the sound of the FG Red Label guitars, our goal was to deliver a warm tone ideally suited for modern folk music and today’s singer-songwriters.
Through meticulous measurements and extensive experimentation, we made several adjustments aimed at enhancing bass response without compromising the instrument’s durability. These changes have been optimized for the natural characteristics of the woods and each body shape.

A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement)
This is a wood treatment technology originally developed by Yamaha. By precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood are manipulated to achieve ideal acoustic characteristics, similar to those of wood from instruments that have been played for many years.
