Description

The Fender California Deluxe Redondo Mahogany is a full-size acoustic guitar that combines the powerful projection of the Redondo body with the warm, natural character of mahogany. Its solid mahogany top, paired with laminated mahogany back and sides, delivers rich midrange, smooth trebles, and a balanced response, making it especially suitable for accompaniment, songwriting, and strumming.

The mahogany neck with a Slim “C” profile and satin finish provides a comfortable, smooth playing feel, while the rosewood fingerboard with a 12" radius facilitates both chord playing and melodic work. The scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and projection, and details like the Micarta nut and saddle, sealed tuning machines, and the distinctive Jazzmaster-style headstock complete a Fender acoustic with a strong personality.

Our Opinion

This Redondo is an excellent choice for players seeking an acoustic with substantial body, warm tone, and a particularly pleasing response for vocal accompaniment. It works very well for strumming, songwriting, pop, folk, acoustic rock, and sessions where a full tone without excessive brightness is desired.

Its size offers generous projection, making it especially suitable for playing at home, rehearsing, or performing with a microphone. We would recommend it to guitarists looking for a comfortable, personality-filled Fender acoustic, but preferring a rounder, mid-focused sound compared to the typical spruce-topped guitar.
