The Fender Bassman amplifier from the 50s evolved as a response to amplify a new and groundbreaking instrument: the Fender Precision Bass.
By the 60s and 70s, the original tube-powered 4x10 Bassman gained great popularity among rock, country, and blues guitarists as a reliable, great-sounding, and easy-to-use amplifier.
In fact, some British amplifier designers of that era copied its circuitry for use in their most popular designs. In the 90s, Fender introduced an affordable reissue of the now-collectible 59 Bassman® amplifier upon popular demand.
Many musicians tired of experimenting with preamps, EQs, and effects racks rediscovered the joy of simply plugging into a Fender tube amplifier and starting to "rock".
The Reissue Bassman remains one of the top models in Fender’s line of guitar amplifiers.
