The PAF Pro was developed as intensive guitar music and high-gain amplifiers, along with rack systems, started gaining popularity. A pickup was needed that combined strong presence with a PAF-style open sound.
Its transparent tone allows the PAF Pro to cut through even the toughest processing, where darker-sounding pickups tend to get lost in the effects chain mud. The bass notes deliver both punch and clarity, while a midrange peak gives the pickup a subtle vocal quality, reminiscent of a wah pedal frozen in the mid position.
The treble response isn’t entirely natural, making the high notes stand out without becoming harsh. The PAF Pro is an incredible neck pickup for almost any guitar and an exceptional bridge pickup when high output is required.
