D'Addario is a manufacturer of accessories for musical instruments which is mainly known for making strings for electric guitars. In addition to strings, they manufacture and distribute all kinds of accessories (straps, cables, etc) for musicians under the Planet Waves brand. The brand comes from a family of manufacturers from a small Italian town called Salle, located in the province of Pescara, who after an earthquake emigrated to New York, where they are currently based.
