About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. It is named after the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki's company. The 1929 recession hit the firm, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so the importer decided in 1935 to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on his own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador". Later he changed the name to "Ibanez".
