About Ibanez
Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. Its name derives from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on its own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the brand was simplified to just "Ibanez".
