The L16 models are characterized by their excellent solid woods, premium Engelmann spruce top, and rosewood/mahogany back and sides. The new bracing design and the A.R.E. technology treatment give these guitars a warm sound full of nuance and great resonance, while maintaining an optimal tonal balance. For all these reasons, these guitars always find their perfect place in a band setting. Additionally, the new, very comfortable neck profile and the Yamaha-developed Zero Impact pickup are two more reasons to feel confident and at ease on stage.
A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is a wood treatment technology originally developed by Yamaha. Through precise control of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated to achieve ideal acoustic characteristics similar to those of instruments that have been played for many years.
