The semi-acoustic A5 bass features a Canadian basswood body with dual chambers, a solid spruce top, a maple neck, and a Richlite fingerboard. The A5 also includes a thumb rest mounted on top of the top for comfortable playing position. What sets the A5 apart is its dual-voice pickup system with integrated controls.

This allows the bassist to choose between the modern, dynamic sound of the Lace Sensor magnetic pickup or the authentic acoustic double bass tone from the LR Baggs individual transducers in the bridge. The magnetic pickup is controlled by two pots, one for volume and one for tone, mounted on the body rim, while the LR Baggs bridge transducers are managed via a custom preamp mounted on top. These ergonomic sliders enable you to adjust volume, treble, midrange, and bass, as well as the saturation control to add warmth to your sound.

There is also a “Fat Switch” selector that acts as a “Booster” for mid-bass frequencies, enhancing presence. The A5 offers two individual outputs as well as a combined “mix” output for greater versatility.
