- Custom V5 alnico pickups (VSP5n Split Single Coil / VSC5b Single Coil)
The 400 series continues the tradition of high-quality craftsmanship and distinctive sound that the BB series has been renowned for over its forty years of history. Whether you prefer the warm tone of a rosewood fingerboard or the brighter, more defined sound of a maple fingerboard, the precision and responsiveness provided by the angled neck joint secured with six bolts, along with the clarity of the specially wound pickups designed for this series, will inspire you to play your best when it’s time to perform.
The Yamaha BB434 Teal Blue features a classic alder body, while the neck is constructed from multiple pieces of maple and mahogany, as well as the innovative "Miter" mounting system. Two angled screws pull the neck into the pocket, ensuring a tight fit, while four additional screws provide an exceptionally stable connection. The electric bass also has a rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium frets. It is equipped with a split coil pickup and a single-coil pickup with Alnico V magnets. The VSP5n in the middle position delivers a rich growl in the lows, while the VSC5b at the bridge offers transparent and assertive tones.
