The A4 semi-acoustic bass is built with a Canadian linden (basswood) body with two chambers, a solid spruce top, a maple neck, and a Richlite fingerboard. The A4 also features a thumb support mounted on top of the top to ensure a comfortable playing position. What sets the A4 apart is its two-voice pickup system with integrated controls.

This allows the bassist to choose between the Lace Sensor magnetic pickup for a modern, dynamic sound, or the individual LR Baggs transducers in the bridge that deliver an authentic acoustic double bass tone. The magnetic pickup is controlled by 2 pots, one for volume and one for tone, mounted on the body’s rim, while the LR Baggs bridge transducers are managed by a custom preamp mounted on top. These ergonomic sliders let you adjust volume, treble, midrange, and bass, as well as a saturation control to add warmth to your sound.

There is also a “Fat Switch” selector that acts as a “Booster” for mid-bass frequencies, enhancing presence. The A4 offers two individual outputs as well as a combined “mix” output for greater versatility.
