The Alien Twister is a fuzz/distortion pedal with a built-in buffer. With an output that reaches unity gain at the 10 o’clock position, this pedal has the power to blow the doors off your venue. To keep us hungry, the pedal includes a small bottle of Alien Twister Hot Sauce, all housed in a wooden box.

Controls

• Input: adjusts the signal level entering the pedal, similar to a gain control but not exactly the same. This control is especially useful for a fuzz pedal, and combined with the ‘Stab’ control, it offers a wide range of tones at your fingertips.
• Output: controls the signal level sent to the amplifier. Analog Alien warns that this pedal has a high output, reaching unity gain (the same volume as when the pedal is off) with the knob at 10 o’clock.
• Stab: adjusts the voltage sent to the pedal’s final transistor stage. Lower voltage results in less note definition and sustain, even causing the sound to break up. Turning the knob clockwise delivers full voltage, producing a much clearer distortion with great sustain. This control works hand in hand with the Input control—try different settings to explore their interaction.
• Buffer: a simple added circuit with a high-impedance input and low-impedance output. Lowering the impedance gives the signal an extra boost, helping preserve tone when using long cables or running through other pedals in your chain.
