Description

The AU series features a unique construction. Instead of being built with a separate top, sides, and back like most ukuleles, the AU body starts as a solid block of wood and extends outward, so the back and sides are a single piece of wood. A top is then added to complete the body. This construction method gives these instruments a unique sound and a brilliant playing experience.

About Ibanez

Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The brand's name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibanez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on their own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was shortened to "Ibanez."
