Tested on stages around the world, the Wolfgang Special is a pure-blooded music-making machine, designed with stunning style, a massive sound, and high-speed playing capabilities.
The Wolfgang Special QM features a basswood body with a carved, quilted maple top and a solidly built, roasted maple neck, bolt-on and reinforced with graphite. The neck is shaped and rolled to Eddie Van Halen’s demanding specifications and has a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back. Ready for high performance, energetic riffs, and fiery solos, the roasted maple fingerboard with a 12"-16" compound radius has 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays. String tension adjustments are easier than ever thanks to a conveniently located wheel at the base of the neck.

A pair of iconic, custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking pickups are mounted directly to the body, delivering a dynamic yet articulate voice with infinite sustain for powerful chords and melodic lines. A durable, reliable EVH Floyd Rose locking tremolo and a Floyd Rose locking nut work together to maintain precise tuning even with extreme tone changes, while the EVH D-Tuna allows quick drop-D tuning and back with just a flick of a finger. The volume knob with treble bleed circuit features a low-friction EVH Bourns 500K potentiometer for smooth increases, and the tone control knob uses a high-friction Bourns 250K potentiometer to prevent accidental tone changes.
About EVH
The initials EVH immediately bring to mind the iconic riffs and solos of guitarist Edward Van Halen. Alongside Peavey, Eddie collaborated on the creation of his signature guitar, the EVH Wolfgang, named after his son. In 2009, he launched his own signature line, which is still endorsed by Fender today.
