About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The brand name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibáñez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession impacted the company, leading to its closure in 1933. The Japanese market was left without supply, so in 1935, the importer started manufacturing Spanish guitars under the name "Ibanez Salvador" before eventually rebranding as "Ibanez".
