The standard model of the Polara series, which includes Deluxe, Artist Signature, and USA options, offers a unique blend of timeless design and modern features. Built with a straightforward design approach, the Polara features an ultra-lightweight ergonomic body thanks to its minimalist, contoured hardware package. In particular, a string-through-body design transmits the resonance of the strings directly through the mahogany body, providing substantial sustain and response. A diagonal string design matches Guild's compensated saddle bar design, first introduced in the early 1970s.
The new HB-2+ pickups are modern extensions of the highly sought-after large-format Guild HB-1 humbuckers, built in a traditional humbucker size with Alnico V magnets. These HB-2+ pickups deliver a range of boutique-quality tones with plenty of character and voice. The black pole pieces further enhance the vintage vibe, while the simplified master volume and tone controls contribute to the Polara's clean, straightforward design.
