AS Artcore Expressionist Series

For a long time, Ibanez has driven the hollow-body guitar market with a wide range of designs, from rock-oriented semi-hollows to traditional jazz boxes. The Artcore Expressionist line marked a new chapter in the Artcore story. What sets Expressionist apart? Jazz fans will recognize the original Ibanez Super 58, the preferred pickup of George Benson, Pat Metheny, and John Scofield in their own Signature models. A favorite among jazz musicians, but also proven to perform well in a variety of settings. Warmth, balanced articulation, and excellent response are defining features of the Super 58 pickups.

About Ibanez

Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. The name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by the company Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the firm, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on its own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." The name was later shortened to "Ibanez."
