The Guild LB-1 Little Bucker was first introduced in 1962 as an upgrade to the single-coil pickups. Tonally, it has a bit more shimmer than a traditional PAF humbucker. The resistance and inductance of these pickups sit comfortably between a typical single-coil and a typical humbucker, contributing to the airy character of the LB-1 without sacrificing warmth. The LB-1 has a unique size, placing it between a mini-humbucker and a full-sized humbucker.
About the Starfire
Based on the timeless shape of the Starfire II and III bodies, the Starfire I features a 2" thick hollow body with an additional block of wood under the bridge to enhance bridge stability and resonance.
Constructed with a carved arched maple top, back, and sides, the Starfire I delivers the tone of a hollow-body instrument with bright overtones and pronounced bass. The 24 3/4” scale length and modern slim "U" shape neck provide a fast, smooth playing experience, while the high-quality Guild Vintage 18 tuning machines and Tune-O-matic bridge ensure easy string access and stable tuning.
