Steve's Special is an unconventional approach to high-output bridge humbucker design. Typically, humbuckers concentrate most of their power within a narrow frequency band for maximum impact. Using our patented dual-resonance design, Steve's Special takes the opposite approach, extending the sound across a broad range. The bass and treble frequencies are enhanced while the mids are reduced, so the pickup's output doesn't push a high-gain amplifier into overdrive as easily. This makes Steve’s Special an excellent choice for both fast solos and clean chords, as individual notes don't blend into heavy overdrive, and clean tones have an almost "hi-fi" quality.
