Reduction: This mode offers subtle suppression that works well with most instruments and playing styles. The note decay remains natural and free of noise across all pickups, including low-output single-coils.

Gate: Ideal for high-gain sounds, this mode instantly mutes when no signal is present. MDP provides an ultra-fast response unmatched by any other noise gate pedal, ensuring natural feel and powerful attack—perfect for djent riffs, sweep picking, and legato tapping.

Mute: Converts the pedal's threshold setting into a convenient silent switch for instrument changes, tuning, or rests. The NS-1X operates in Reduction or Gate mode when the switch is off, and this can be assigned via a simple power-up procedure.

Fast and Easy Operation

With intuitive controls and multiple LED indicators, you can set up your ideal noise suppression profile in seconds.

Threshold: Sets the level at which suppression begins. In Reduction mode, start with the dial at the lowest setting and turn clockwise until noise disappears. In Gate mode, start at the highest setting and gradually lower until the attack response feels right.

Decay: Determines how long it takes for maximum noise suppression to be reached after activation. Start at the lowest setting and turn clockwise if a more natural decay is desired.

Damp: Controls the maximum amount of noise reduction. Higher settings produce stronger, clearer suppression. Lower settings soften the effect, resulting in more natural sound for certain styles.

Reduction Indicator: Shows the current noise suppression status.

Precise Detection

The NS-1X circuitry detects the input signal at the front end and applies noise reduction at the output stage. Optimal results are achieved when the instrument is connected directly to the input jack before other pedals. When using distortion, overdrive, or other noise-producing pedals, the most natural effect is achieved by inserting them into the NS-1X's send/return loop. This allows the circuitry to continuously monitor the clean input signal while effectively eliminating pedal noise in the loop, providing seamless performance when toggling effects on and off.
