The MXR Poly Blue Octave combines modern and classic pitch-shifting styles with fuzz and modulation to create the ultimate octave pedal for tone creators and explorers.
The Poly Blue Octave features four separate octave divisions—one octave down, two octaves down, one octave up, and two octaves up—and allows you to control the level of each in the mix. Each one is polyphonic by default, meaning they sound equally great with chords and single-note passages. Your dry signal also has its own level control, so you can dial in the perfect blend of shifted tones.
From contemporary clarity to vintage gritty grit.
The Mono switch takes you back to the monophonic, gritty tones of classic analog-style pitch shifters. In this mode, the sub-octave signals have the warm vibrations and raw character of a pedal like the MXR Vintage Bass Octave, while the higher octave signals resemble the intense fuzz of the Octavio Fuzz.
Call forth thunder and lightning.
The Poly Blue Octave is equipped with a rebellious fuzz inspired by the classic MXR Blue Box™ Fuzz. When applied to all five signals, the fuzz volume can be adjusted with the Dry control after holding down the Fuzz button. When used with sub-octave signals, the fuzz sounds thick and subterranean. On higher tone signals, the fuzz becomes fierce and synthesizer-like. Use them all together for a chorus of thunder and lightning.
Phaser up.
To infuse your octave tones with a seductive sense of movement, from thick and viscous to frenetic, the Poly Blue Octave features a dual-mode modulation circuit. In polyphonic mode, it provides a strange simulation of the famous Leslie effect, while in monophonic mode, it delivers classic swooshes and swirling sounds inspired by the Phase 90. Like the fuzz effect, modulation is applied to all five signals when activated. The Mod control adjusts the speed of the effect; to turn it off, simply turn the control fully counterclockwise.
Take control and move forward.
Through the EXP jack, the Poly Blue Octave allows you to control various settings with an expression pedal like the volume pedal (X)™8 or an external switch such as the MXR Tap Tempo Switch to toggle between two different knob and switch configurations or to activate and deactivate fuzz and mono modes.
A full palette of tones and textures in a single pedal.
The MXR Poly Blue Octave offers high-performance pitch shifting, fuzz, and modulation in a rugged, reliable enclosure with true bypass switching. Add it to your signal chain and explore new sonic frontiers.
