Prelude J810 4/4 medium tension winding - The Prelude strings feature a high-carbon steel core wrapped with polished nickel or aluminum winding. Since their introduction in 1983, Prelude strings have been refined to deliver the best tone. Each string is wound using our Kaplamatic system, applying successive layers of winding without affecting the core tension. During the winding process, damping resins are applied to reduce the brightness typically associated with steel core strings.
