About the Q Series
The Q or Quest series is a completely new concept for Ibanez. This range features a series of unique elements designed to maximize tone, performance, and playing comfort. These include custom-designed humbucker Q58 and single-coil R1 pickups, a new Mono-Tune bridge, and a patented custom string locking mechanism. The QX subseries is also equipped with innovative 8-degree inward-angled frets, which ergonomically adapt to benefit highly technical players.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a manufacturer of guitars and basses based in Japan. Its name derives from the Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The 1929 recession affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market became underserved, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on their own and distributed them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was changed to "Ibanez".
