The OD808 was one of the pioneers among tube amplifier simulation effect pedals, dating back to 1979. The design of the OD808 is undoubtedly the most widely used in the subsequent emulators that followed.
The key secret lies in the type of signal saturation diode and the integrated chip within the same amplification stage of the pedal, which allows the D&S to respond so naturally and cleanly to dynamics without coloring your signal. It was the first of its kind and remains an icon today.
