The name Asabi means "unusual birth," and was chosen by Mateus because it reflects the unique nature of this pedal, as well as his own family heritage.
Interchangeable Modules
Jackson Audio has developed new technology featuring small replaceable distortion circuits, allowing you to change the type of distortion in the Asabi without needing to purchase a new pedal entirely. We all love trying out new pedals, and thanks to these affordable modular options, you can upgrade your pedal with new distortion types that go beyond the standard presets. A all of us enjoy experimenting with new sounds, and these cost-effective modules make it easy to expand your tonal palette.
Gain Cycle
The innovative Jackson Audio Gain Cycle feature consists of a preset cycle within the pedal, indicated by different LED colors and quickly accessible. In the case of the Asabi, there are four types that use different diodes to achieve a variety of saturation effects. All these distortions are controlled by a single output circuit, so no matter which one you select: your output volume remains consistent.
- Preset 1: Amber color, vintage Marshall 'In a Box' style JCM800
- Preset 2: Green color, classic Screamer with mid-boost style 808
- Preset 3: Blue color, higher gain with asymmetrical clipping
- Preset 4: Magenta color, higher gain with symmetrical clipping
MIDI Control
Another modern feature of the Asabi is its MIDI input. It offers MIDI control over clipping styles, 'Gain Cycle' options, unit EQ settings, as well as on/off switching of saturation circuits; Jackson Audio Asabi is arguably one of the most comprehensive analog pedals ever created and can even integrate with complex setups.
