The PRS Horsemeat is a transparent analog overdrive pedal designed to increase gain and enrich harmonics without masking the guitar and amplifier's natural character. Its circuit with germanium diodes provides defined, musical midrange, maintaining clarity in the high frequencies and offering a wide dynamic range.
Thanks to its Gain, Level, Voice, Treble, and Bass controls, it can be used as a clean boost, main overdrive, or to push an amplifier’s preamp section. The Voice control adjusts the saturation response, allowing a transition from a smooth, full-bodied sound to a more open and bright tone.

Our Opinion
The PRS Horsemeat is a particularly interesting option for players who want to add gain and presence without losing their guitar or amplifier’s personality. Its bass and treble EQ offers more adjustment capability than typical transparent overdrives, while the Voice control makes it easy to adapt to different pickups, amplifiers, and styles. It works very well as a always-on pedal, solo boost, or as the first gain stage in a pedalboard.
