The VG-800 works just as well with bass, offering a special mode with processing algorithms tailored for four-string basses, plus 150 independent memory slots. Access a variety of modeled instruments, including classic fretted and fretless basses and an acoustic upright bass. Explore unique textures with VIO Bass and synthesized sounds, including a custom-tuned GR-300 model for bass.

The VG-800’s footswitches and various external control options offer exciting performance possibilities. Switch instrument types or tunings at the push of a button. You can also smoothly transition between instrument types, each with its own signal processing chain.

Thanks to its multichannel USB audio/MIDI interface, the VG-800 is a powerful recording tool for computer-based music production. Capture stereo mixes and switch instruments in real time as you play. Or record two modeled instrument sounds plus the direct guitar input on separate DAW tracks. You can even record raw string sounds from the GK divided pickup separately, then send them back to the VG-800 for “reprocessing” your guitar or bass. Plus, enjoy fast pitch-to-MIDI conversion to trigger software instruments from your guitar or bass.

To work its magic, the V-Guitar system captures each string’s signal separately via the Serial GK divided pickup and applies sophisticated high-speed real-time processing. This approach delivers completely natural, latency-free performance that keeps you connected to your music. Serial GK pickup models are available for guitar (GK-5) and bass (GK-5B) that users can install externally, as well as Serial GK kits for permanent installation inside the instrument.
