Gretsch pays tribute to the late Malcolm Young, whose solid rhythm guitar swagger and songwriting provided the unshakable foundation for the monumental rock titans AC/DC.

The G6131-MY pays homage to Young's famously weathered Gretsch Jet. Nicknamed ‘The Beast’, Malcolm certainly made the instrument his own, most notably by removing two of the three pickups, stripping the finish and playing some of the hardest, most memorable rhythms the world has ever heard.

  • DIY pickup routes with simulated screw holes.
  • Chrome switch sockets
  • TV Jones Power'Tron bridge pickup
  • Mahogany body with double-cutaway chamber and maple top
  • Antiqued white binding.
  • Ebony fretboard bound with 22 jumbo frets and Neo-Classic miniatures
  • Gretsch ‘60s Jet tailpiece
  • Space-Control bridge, bone nut and Schaller die-cast pegs
  • Available in Aged Natural stain with black back and sides.Fine leather semi-gloss finish for a true ‘tour worn’ feel.

This model features the essential characteristics of one of rock's most iconic instruments, including DIY pickup routes with simulated screw holes, chrome switch sockets, Space-Control bridge and ‘60s-style tailpiece. An open-cavity thunder roars from the mahogany body with fine leather satin-finish chambering and is magnified by a high-performance TV Jones Power'Tron pickup.

The fiery rock ‘n’ roll spirit of Malcolm Young lives on through the timeless and timeless music of AC/DC, and it is a great privilege for Gretsch to pay tribute to him with a finely crafted instrument bearing his name.
