About the pickups
Kiko plays a wide range of music, from metal to fusion jazz, and the pickups were designed to reflect this variety of sound. The neck and bridge pickups, both humbuckers, have a medium output and a balanced sound in terms of frequency response. The single-coil middle pickup is more powerful and warmer in tone than a typical vintage single coil, providing a good balance with the neck and bridge pickups.
About Ibanez
Ibanez is a guitar and bass manufacturer based in Japan. Its name comes from Spanish luthier Salvador Ibañez, whose excellent guitars were distributed in Japan by Hoshino Gakki. The recession of 1929 affected the company, which closed in 1933. The Japanese market was left underserved, so in 1935 the importer decided to start manufacturing Spanish guitars on its own, distributing them under the name "Ibanez Salvador." Later, the name was changed to "Ibanez."
