Designed to deliver speed, comfort, and maximum attack, the redesigned 5150 Standard Series is an iconic blast from the past that combines vintage features with modern updates. Like its predecessor, the 5150 Standard features a modified Strat-style basswood body with a deeper upper curve. The reinforced maple neck with a graphite support boasts a comfortable "C" profile, a hand-frothed satin urethane finish, a truss rod adjustment wheel mounted at the heel, and a "hockey stick" shaped headstock in matching color with an EVH logo decal. Built for smooth and fast playability, the 12"-16" compound radius ebony fingerboard has 22 jumbo frets and cream-colored inlays.

While the original striped model featured only a single humbucking bridge pickup, the new 5150 is equipped with a dual-humbucker configuration controlled by a three-way switch on the upper bout. The custom-designed EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking bridge pickup offers the perfect amount of punch and articulation with a smooth sustain and thick, chunky rhythms, balanced by a perfectly tuned EQ curve. The EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking neck pickup provides warmth, balls-to-the-wall overdrive, and infinite sustain without sacrificing articulate cleans when the volume is rolled back. A custom low-friction volume knob delivers even volume increases for smoother swells, while the high-friction tone knob stays in place even if accidentally bumped. An additional feature is a lower switch that allows you to mute your guitar for those rhythmic, choppy effects—think "You Really Got Me." The guitar is adorned with an EVH-branded top-mount Floyd Rose bridge with "dive-bomb" capability, featuring fine tuners for each string and a patented EVH D-Tuna for instant drop-D tuning or standard tuning switching.
About EVH
The initials EVH immediately evoke images of Eddie Van Halen's extraordinary riffs and solos. Alongside Peavey, Eddie collaborated on his signature guitar, the EVH Wolfgang, named after his son. In 2009, he launched his own signature line, which is still endorsed by Fender today.
